Local police in Indianapolis confirmed that Ivan Chan and Luis Fairfield, both from Indianapolis, died when a car plunged into a creek beneath a bridge at 38th Street on the city’s near northwest side. Keep reading to know more about it in detail.

Local police at the scene confirmed that two men died after a car crashed into a creek beneath a bridge along 38th Street on Indianapolis’s near northwest side.
Around 10:00 p.m., crews from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and Indianapolis Fire Department were summoned to the 2700 block of West 38th Street near Kessler on the northwest side of the city for a car accident involving entrapment and an inverted vehicle.
Witnesses reportedly saw an automobile travelling at a high speed enter a brook and grass beneath a bridge over W. 38th Street, according to IMPD Capt. Mark McCardia who was on the scene.
Capt. McCardia claimed that the vehicle then turned on its side and flattened out before coming to a rest.
Victims details:
At first, IMPD officers were unable to confirm how many people were in the car. IMPD published an update at 12:30 a.m. stating that a second individual had perished as a result of the collision. Two adult males lost their lives as a result of the collision, according to IMPD.
The fatalities were identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office as Ivan Orlando Chan, 22, and Luis Enrique Fairfield, 21.
Two people were located dead inside the vehicle with the assistance of Indianapolis Fire Department crews; police believe the victims were inside for a number of hours.
W. 38th Street will be closed for a while as a result of the collision. Drivers are being urged by officers to find an alternative route.
At this point, there is no information on what happened preceding the crash.
Authorities are currently looking into the death circumstances, which are yet unclear. The news has obviously crushed the victim’s family and friends, and the community has been horrified by the tragic loss.
