Vincent Grucci, former Patchogue Village chamber president, died Sunday while traveling in Colombia. Let us see more details about Vincent Grucci and his cause of death.
Vincent Grucci Cause of Death
Former Patchogue Village Chamber of Commerce President Vincent Grucci died suddenly over the weekend while vacationing in Colombia, the chamber’s executive director confirmed on Monday.
He was hospitalized with internal bleeding Saturday and died the next day, Grucci said. Perry said her niece, Danielle Butler, was in Colombia Monday to arrange to bring Grucci’s remains back to the United States. She said her son likely would be cremated in Colombia.
Who is Vincent Grucci
Grucci had grown up in Bellport before his family moved to Middle Island. He graduated from Longwood High School, his mother said. He served as president of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce from 2000 to 2003 while working as a financial planner. According to David Kennedy, executive director of the chamber, Patchogue used to have a rundown downtown that was littered with vacant storefronts. Grucci was hailed by Kennedy as “a great neighborhood leader.
He undoubtedly contributed to Patchogue’s turnaround. According to him, Grucci also contributed to the founding of the Greater Patchogue Foundation, which provides funding for activities like parades and village beautification initiatives.
Family members revealed on Monday that Vincent Grucci, who recently relocated to Palm Beach, Florida, had previously worked for the family business before striking out on his own. Grucci and Associates, a firm he owned and controlled, specialized in investments and financial planning. Clients consulted him on money-related issues as well as other elements of their lives, according to Patricia Perry, Grucci’s mother. She said to Newsday on Monday, “He enjoyed getting to know and helping people. He delighted in interacting with, assisting, and directing people.
Alive After Five street event
The well-known Alive After Five street event was started by Patchogue businessman Vincent Grucci, a former chamber of commerce president, to promote economic growth and reinvigorate the community. Grucci, a resident of Bellport who ran an investment firm in Patchogue, volunteered his spare time to the chamber and started Alive After Five in 2001 after going to a related festival while traveling, according to David Kennedy, the chamber’s executive director.
He said, “Main Street was completely different.” “The notion, the concept, was that there was no scene in Patchogue on a Friday night.” “There was this little synergy and Vinny captured on it,” Kennedy said. “He said, ‘Hey, let’s do this. We’ll have music on Main Street. We’ll close the street; have a few vendors; have people serve a few of the craft beers they are making.'”
According to Kennedy, it was a “pretty tiny event” for the first couple of years and drew approximately 100 people. In addition to craft beer tastings, music, and a few vendors, Alive After Five now features street cuisine, food trucks, entertainment for kids, and family-friendly activities. Every summer, it attracts thousands of visitors to Patchogue over a number of weeks, and it has prompted local officials in other places, such as Riverhead, which holds Alive on 25, to organize their own street festivals.
“When you talk about what turned this community around, Alive After Five certainly stands out,” Kennedy said. “It exposed our community to so many people from the outside. So many restaurant owners will say that coming to Alive After Five inspired them to invest in our town. Vinny deserves all the credit for making that event happen.”
Fireworks by Grucci
Fireworks by Grucci is an American fireworks company headquartered in Bellport on New York’s Long Island. It has been a family-run business since 1850. The company’s main fireworks office and operations are in Bellport, New York, with a manufacturing and government work factory in Radford, Virginia.
According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, an industry trade group, Fireworks by Grucci is “one of the nation’s premier pyrotechnics firms. Fireworks by Grucci has adopted the use of technology, including the use of computers to electronically fire the shells. It has also switched from using the traditionally used cardboard gun barrels to fiberglass and steel, which is better able to absorb a misfire.
Tributes by family and Friends
The family is making arrangements to have Grucci’s body flown to New York. Plans for funeral services in the Bellport area are forthcoming. “Without question, Vinny was one of the most important and successful Presidents in our Chamber’s history and was an instrumental part of Patchogue’s revitalization we all enjoy today,” said David Kennedy, the chamber’s executive director, in a statement.
“This passing hits very close to me, as I had the honor to serve on the chamber’s executive board while Vinny was our President,” Kennedy said. “From our shared determination to turn Patchogue around, we became very good friends. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Grucci Family at this difficult time,” he added.
Vincent Grucci could have stayed with his family’s famous fireworks firm, but he went out on his own as a financial planner. Grucci, who was president of the #Patchogue chamber of commerce for 3 years, died Sunday in South America. https://t.co/QXvPCnBFHJ
