My name is William and I have been Cynthia’s spouse for over 13 years. Today it’s my turn to the difficult task of announcing his passing. Saturday night, coming back from a bike ride, we were hit hard by a car. Cynthia passed away from her injuries on the way to the hospital. I want to personally thank the people that have followed Cynthia through the years. Without your testimonials and beautiful words of encouragement, she would never have been able to do all that she did. I hope you’ll excuse the briefness and direct nature of my message, it’s the best I’ve had the strength to do under the circumstances. I’ll leave you to the last picture Cynthia took – a picture of us happy on the walk.

The driver of the vehicle is a 45-year-old man residing in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, confirmed agent Louis-Philippe Ruel, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec in Estrie. Following the tragedy, an accident reconstruction specialist went to the scene to analyze the scene.

Route 265 is two-way traffic. Only a narrow way is available for cyclists. No assumption is favored to explain the incident. The investigation is continuing, said Mr. Ruel.
