A rollover crash in Barron County claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl. Let’s analyze the girl’s circumstances and the details of how she died in a crash.

County Barron: Charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance causing injury led to the arrest of the 16-year-old male driver.

After a high-speed collision in western Wisconsin on Monday night, one girl, 14, died and another is critically injured.

Around 7 p.m., a 16-year-old male was driving a vehicle “at a high rate of speed” in Barron County when he allegedly lost control and sent it rolling multiple times.

Three teenage girls were riding in the car at the time, ages 15, 14, and 14. One of them was transported to Marshfield Hospital with significant injuries, while the other two were transported by helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where they were both classified in critical condition.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Office issued an updated news statement on Tuesday informing the public that one of the 14-year-old teenage girls who were involved in the single-vehicle rollover collision on Monday night had passed away.

On Monday October 10, 2022 at 7pm the Barron County 911 center received a call of a one vehicle rollover on 16 ½ Ave near 19 ¾ St, just north of Cameron.
Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Cameron Fire Department, LMC Ambulance, Cameron Police Department, Mayo Ambulance, WI State Patrol and 2 Life Link Helicopters responded to the scene.
Initial investigation shows a vehicle occupied by a 16 year old male was travelling west on 16 ½ Ave at a high rate of speed and lost control causing the vehicle to roll several times. In the vehicle were 3 juvenile female ages 15, 14 and 14. Two females were flown to Regions Hospital in St Paul and are in critical condition. The third female was transported to LMC and later flown out to a Marshfield Hospital with serious injuries.
The male driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries. As a result of the initial investigation the 16 year old was taken into custody on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance causing injury and is currently being held in the Eau Claire Secure Detention Facility. This case is being sent to the Barron County District Attorney’s Office for review.
This crash remains under investigation by the Barron County Sheriff’s Department and is being reconstructed by the WI State Patrol.

Two adolescent girls are in critical condition and one has significant injuries as a result of a single-vehicle collision that happened on Monday night.

According to a statement from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, a 16-year-old male motorist who suffered minor injuries was also detained for OWI.

At 7:30 a.m. the Barron County Sheriff’s Department was advised by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office that one of the 14 year old females involved in the crash from last night has passed away.

The Barron County 911 center received a report of a one-vehicle rollover on 16 1/2 Ave near 19 3/4 St, just north of Cameron, on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 7 p.m.

Along with the Cameron Fire Department, LMC Ambulance, Cameron Police Department, Mayo Ambulance, WI State Patrol, and 2 Life Link Helicopters, deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department also arrived at the incident.

According to a preliminary inquiry, a car driven by a 16-year-old boy lost control while driving west on 16 1/2 Avenue and rolled multiple times.

Three young female passengers, 15, 14, and 14, were in the car. A critical condition has developed for two females who were airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Moreover, the third female was brought to LMC and then airlifted with critical wounds to a Marshfield hospital.

The male driver received minor injuries treatment on the spot.

Therefore, the 16-year-old was detained on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance causing injury as a result of the initial inquiry and is presently being held in the Eau Claire Secure Detention Facility.

The Barron County District Attorney’s Office will be reviewing this matter.

And the WI State Patrol is reconstructing this collision as the Barron County Sheriff’s Department is still looking into it.
