How did Lance Kerwin die?

Lance Kerwin, a former American child actor died at the age of 62. This sad news was revealed by his daughter on the social media page saying,

“We appreciate all the kind words, memories, and prayers that have been shared,” his daughter wrote. “As the coming weeks’ progress, I will share more information about afterlife ceremonies.”

Who was Lance Kerwin?

Lance Kerwin was born on 6 November 1960 in Newport Beach, California, USA. His famous roles include Outbreak (1995), Enemy Mine (1985), and Salem’s Lot (1979). He was previously married to Yvonne and Kristen Lansdale.

He was the youngest of five brothers and was raised by a talent agent mom and an acting instructor dad.

Acting Career:

At the age of 13, he made his first appearance on television in an episode of “Emergency!”. He became a busy actor in 1970 acting in various shows like “Gunsmoke,” “Wonder Woman” and “The Bionic Woman.”

As a young teen, he acted in “Little House on the Prairie,” and “Cannon.” He also acted in several TV series like ABC After School Specials,” an anthology series, “The Family Holvak”, “Insight,”, “Young Joe”, “the Forgotten Kennedy” etc.

Kerwin received great attention for his portrayal in the sole season of the James 16 show, which was nominated for an Emmy.

The show’s creator, Kevin Williamson, later claimed that it was the source of inspiration for his popular 1990s series, telling Entertainment Weekly that he wanted to adapt “James at 15” for the decade. It was extremely controversial and much ahead of its time.

Following the success of “James at 16,” Kewin starred in the 1979 motion picture version of Stephen King’s best-selling book “Salem’s Lot.”

He kept acting far in the 1980s and 1990s, taking part in a number of fleeting series and made-for-TV films.

In 2002’s drama “The Wind & the Reckoning,” he made his final recorded performance.

According to a 2010 Minneapolis Star Tribune article, Kerwin had migrated to Hawaii and had been sentenced to five years probation after pleading guilty to a theft charge.

Kerwin was allegedly employed as a preacher and a U-Turn for Christ programme leader when he was discovered forging documents to acquire state medical aid and food stamps.

His daughter Savanah posted the heart breaking news on Facebook. No specific cause of death has been given. According to his daughter Savanah, an autopsy is being done to ascertain the cause of death.

Kerwin is survived by his wife and his five children named, Savanah, Fox, Terah, Kailani, and Justus.

According to Deadline, a 2021 GoFundMe campaign revealed that Kerwin had struggled in the years following his legal run-in. It also stated that he had a number of health problems.
