How did Jordan Blake die?

Jordan Blake, ‘A Skylit Drive’ vocalist passed away at the age of 36 on May 02, 2023. The band announced this sad news on social media. It is unknown what caused Jordan’s death. The family has asked for privacy at this time.

The statement shared by the band reads,

“We are overwhelmed with grief to inform you of the loss of Jordan early this morning. Jordan was a trailblazer in the emo/post-hardcore music scene with undeniable passion and loved his fans like family.

When he had a story to tell, you could read it in his lyrics, hear it in his voice, see his movements, and feel it in your depths. We will forever reflect fondly on the memories and music we shared. We love you Jordan, we’ll see you down the road brother. “Always in our Hearts”.

We want to respect Jordan’s family’s wishes for privacy and space to grieve so we will not be commenting until further notice. Thank you all for reaching out and for your kind words. His legacy will live on through all of you.”

Who was Jordan Blake?

Jordan was well-known for being one of the early pioneers of the high-pitched clean vocals mixed with screaming that became prominent in the post-hardcore music genre. He grew up with a brother and sister after moving to Lodi, California, on June 20, 1986.

Jordan Blake became a member of A Skylit Drive in 2007. He appeared on the programme She Watched the Sky. Jordan had an appearance in the album’s song “Drown The City” music video.

Between 2005 and 2007, Blake served as the band’s lead vocalist. Recently, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of their debut EP She Watched the Sky, the band’s original lineup from 2006, Blake re-joined the group.

According to rumors from 2007, Jordan left A Skylit Drive because of health concerns. The band Watchout! was founded by Jordan Blake and Joshua Stotts after they left ASD. There are Spirits present.

The group joined forces with Rise Records, which they used to release the single album “Ghost Town.” There is only one music video that the group has released, and it is for the song “The Shakeup.”

There were rumors that the group might release “Ghost Town 2.0,” its second album, in 2012, but the album was not released.

Due to health-related issues, Blake departed the band during a tour back in November 2007 since he was unable to continue traveling.

Jonny Craig served as the band’s temporary replacement and took part in the recording of a demo of “Knights of the Round.” Later, Craig Mabbitt, formerly of blessthefall, took over for Craig Mabbitt, before the last addition of Michael Jag Jagmin to finish the current lineup.

Jordan Blake moved on to form Speak of the Devil in 2013. The band’s original lineup from 2006 announced their reunion on January 23, 2022, to mark the 15th anniversary of their debut EP She Watched the Sky.

The reconstituted group secured performances at Swanfest 2022 and So What?! festivals. The frontman of A Skylit Drive, in addition to being known as the band’s primary singer, also donated his vocal abilities to Ann Arbour, Trances, and Watchout! Ghosts and devil talk are present.

I know we just shared some good news of our performing at Slamoween 4 this year but unfortunately we were just hit with some heartbreaking news.
Jordan Blake (A Skylit Drive and Watchout There’s Ghosts) has sadly passed away.
She Watched The Sky and Ghost Town are still some of the best albums of all time. He had an unforgettable voice/range and an impressive vocabulary to back it all up. All of those late nights jamming his tunes over and over will forever be cherished. Thank you for everything Jordan and we hope you’ve found peace.

Rest In Peace Jordan Blake
From watching you in ASD when we were younger to booking you some solo shows, and having you at family vacation. You always treated me very nicely and I will always appreciate you and the music you created. It was a pleasure.

And more bad news. Jordan Blake (A Skylit Drive original vocalist) has passed away at age 36. I had to honor of interviewing him when he was in Watchout! There’s Ghost and Trances. Was trying to set something up with him when he was in town last year with his version of A Skylit Drive at The Whisky. I wish I had gone to the show! Jordan was so massively talented and I enjoyed covering his projects over the years. Jordan Blake RIP.

Zachary Van Dyck posted,
