Jonathan Gales (36), whose wife is expecting their second child, reportedly crossed a road and was struck by a car going the opposite way down a one-way street.

A Heartbroken family paid tribute to a “loving” husband and father after he died in a Los Angeles accident by a suspected drunk driver. A second man received treatment for serious but non-life-threatening wounds.

According to reports, the 39-year-old driver fled the scene before colliding head-on with another car; he was then purposefully trapped in by another driver until the LAPD arrived.

James Gales, Jonathan’s father, said: ‘He has been an inspiration to all those who were fortunate enough to meet him whether in creation, sport, or leisure. ‘He was a caring, thoughtful and loving husband and father, a bubbly personality with a fascination for world culture. ‘He had many, many friends who, along with his close, and extended family, will sorely miss him.’

Joseph Hansen Madarang, 39, was detained on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the report. ‘After hitting the men, Madarang continued driving west, crashing head-on with another vehicle, police said. Community members kept him from leaving the area; one person used his car to block Madarang from escaping, the LAPD said.

‘Madarang is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center. Bail is set at $130,000.’

After spending time together as students at The Bartlett School of Design, the Gales, Nicholls and Tavares founded Factory Fifteen. There, they gained recognition for their innovative films that examined the intersection of technology and architecture in the future.

Gales’ capstone project resulted in an arresting rendering of a nightmarish future London. Mr. Gales, a Jersey native who attended St. Christopher’s School and Victoria College before attending the University of Brighton to study design. Gales is survived by his wife Claire Pepper and their one-year-old son Finley Pepper Gales. In April, their second kid is expected.

The pair resided in London, where Mr. Gales worked as a film actor. His mother Julie, father, and two brothers are all still residing in Jersey.
