What happened to Gary Wilkinson?

Gary’s cousin Sue Lines announced his passing on Sunday morning, writing: “Sadly late Friday night, October 28, 2022, my fabulous cousin Gary Wilkinson died away following a brief illness. He was with family, and he will always be in our thoughts and hearts.

Gary was both a buddy and my favorite cousin. We are all in shock about it. Respect his family at this time.

Who is Gary Wilkinson?

Durham radio presenter Gary Wilkinson began his radio career in the middle of the 1990s at Wear FM in Sunderland. He spent more than thirty years working in the UK radio industry. He was also known as Mojo/Nick Jordan and could be heard on the North East radio stations TFM, Real Radio, Sun FM, and Galaxy.

Gary enjoyed most of his life working in radio stations including Sun FM, Metro, TFM, Wyvern, Galaxy North East and Manchester, MFM, Real Radio, the BBC, and more.

In addition to his work in the North East, Gary also did freelance work for the BBC and presented on Galaxy Manchester. He even extended his career outside the UK, spending a year in Edmonton, Canada, on CKNG Power 92. He also had a second alter identity, Pizzaman, when working at Atlantic 252 in the Republic of Ireland.

It was announced that Durham radio presenter Gary Wilkinson passed away after a short illness on Friday night 28/10/2022, at the age of 50.
