What happened to ‘Hovain’ Hylton?

The beloved manager and music mogul Hovain Hylton has passed suddenly, according to his family.

It was discovered that the Hip Hop manager, real name Jonathan “Hovain” Hylton, passed away at his home on Friday in a message posted to his official Instagram account (November 25). No cause of death has been made public as of yet.

The statement announced that Jonathan “Hovain” Hylton passed away on Friday, November 25, when he was at home. “It is with extreme grief that we communicate to all family, friends, and coworkers.” He was a cherished and loving father, husband, son, brother, and proud representation of Brooklyn.

“We want to express our gratitude to all of his close friends for their love and support during this trying time. Please respect his family’s right to privacy at this time and keep them in your prayers.

Hovain Hylton cause of death

As per his family statement, it was determined that he died in his home but the exact cause of Hovain Hylton’s passing wasn’t yet known. The cause of his death was not immediately evident.

“Hovain” Hylton : Who is he?

Jonathan “Hovain” Hylton was a label owner, artist, and repertoire (A&R), and manager of hip-hop music. He has worked with a variety of musicians, including Platinum-selling artists like YFN Lucci, Flipp Dinero, and T-Pain, as well as New York legends like Cam’Ron, Jim Jones, and Styles P. Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, and Wiz Khalifa gave their debut New York performances thanks to Hovain and Sickamore.

Rapper Young Lito from Brooklyn and seasoned hip-hop artist Rob Markman were among the customers of Hylton’s newly established management firm, Hovain Hylton Management.  Additionally, he was successful in reaching agreements with Avion Tequila, Adidas, and Diddy’s Sean John clothing line.

Rich Hil’s co-manager Hylton was renowned for having played a very effective career-management role with Troy Ave.  He oversaw Ave’s negotiation of several endorsement contracts for the rapper, including ones with Adidas, Avion, and Sean John.

Before taking over as manager of Troy Ave., Hylton, a Brooklyn native, worked as Butch Lewis’ assistant in the boxing promotion business. Hylton was reportedly scheduled to start teaching at Brooklyn’s Kingsborough Community College in 2021. 

The eight-week “The Business of Music” course was advertised as giving students in-depth education on business positions necessary for an artist’s success, publishing contracts, and more.

I wouldn’t be where I am without Hov telling EVERY single person he knew about me. ‘It Was God’s Plan, It Was Your Will.’ – Hovain”

Hit-Boy revealed that Hovain had reached out to him recently to do some music with his client and former G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks. “Hovain had just hit me up about doing some music with Lloyd banks [prayer emoji] God bless his family.”

“Damn, RIP Hovain,” Skyzoo wrote. “A good BK dude who truly repped the culture and the borough. Rest well G [prayer and dove emojis].”
