The Foxwood Lane route in York has been closed as a result of the accident that killed Meylie Nesham, a young guy from York, earlier this evening. Keep reading to know more about Foxwood Lane accident in detail.

 

Foxwood Lane accident: What happened?

Foxwood Lane is now closed due to an accident involving a motorcycle.

The collision happened on the corner between the stores and Chesney Field, where the air ambulance was landing. According to eyewitnesses, there is a lot of police activity in the neighbourhood.

The air ambulance was on the scene. According to social media reports, the route was closed following the accident earlier this evening.

Police and ambulances are on the site.

Foxwood Residents Association advised people to avoid the neighbourhood on Facebook.

Foxwood Residents Association wrote,

“Foxwood Lane was closed yesterday evening following an accident involving a motorcyclist. Police and ambulances attended the scene. The police have now issued an appeal for witnesses. Our best wishes to anyone affected by the accident.

The Police asked anyone with information about the accident to call them

“We are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on Foxwood Lane, York.

“The collision happened at around 7.40pm this evening (3 August) and involved a single motorcyclist.

“An investigation is currently underway into the circumstances.

“If you have any information that could assist us with this investigation, please call North Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference 455 of 3/8″.

Foxwood Lane has reopened and bus services are running normally”

As of 10:10 p.m. today, the route was still closed to through traffic. Police are still on the scene, with a police van and traffic cones barring entry.

According to local reports, one person died, a young man. Reports say he crashed with a lamppost, but this has yet to be confirmed. Our inquiry revealed that the victim is Meylie Nesham of York City.

The police are still on the site, and the road is closed.

“We would ask if drivers could please avoid Foxwood Lane (from Thanet Road to Askham Lane), as the road will remain closed whilst officers investigate the cause of this accident.”
