Thinks to consider before calculation of NEET 2020 cut off
Before straight away going for cut off calculation, we need to analyse how many seats were allotted to each community students (Percentage reservation) and how much they differ from the actual (Reality reservation). Then there is another one to consider is what is the NEET mark statistics for Tamilnadu this year (Times of India analysis).
1. Category reservation and Reality reservation
Normally as per the Tamilnadu reservation policy, total number of seats present will be reserved under percentage reservation of each category or community. Totally 69% of seats are reserved to different individual communities and rest of the 31% percentage of seats will be considered as open category seats and here all communities will play their role along with OC students.
|S. No||Category||Percentage Reservation||No of seats available|
But If you really look at the seat allotment list and community rank you will realize how was the counselling went beyond the percentage reservation to each category. It means all the categories actually receive more seats than the percentage reservation. This is why because, In Open Category every community students will participate along with OC students. This leads transferring of more seats from Open Category to communities.
So the normal percentage reservation will increase to a particular level and this level of reservation is otherwise known as Reality reservation.
The probability of taking seats from Open Category will remain approximately constant every year to all individual communities. Like If you consider 2018 and 2019 there won’t be much change in Reality reservation.
And also BC, MBC and BCM are the key communities which take most of the seats from Open Category. SC, SCA and ST won’t really take much seats from Open category. Their Percentage reservation and Reality reservation remains equal all the time.

3. Same mark density and probability
We know there will be multiple candidates in the rank list who took same marks. So to analyse the Expected NEET cut off 2020 in Tamilnadu, we have to cross check the Marks range data with last years rank list and closing rank for each category. Here the same mark density plays a key role.
For example, Lets consider OC’s closing rank as 910. But we know the data as for 1029 the mark is 600. So to correlate and calculate the cut off for 2020, we have to move upwards from 1029 rank of 2019 rank list. Whenever the mark density increases one mark in the last years mark then you have to add one mark in 600 marks.
