Edward Muhumuza, a journalist for Nation Television (NTV) in Uganda, died in an automobile accident on the Entebbe Highway.
NTV Uganda shared the devastating nesws on Twitter,
“JUST IN: NTV is saddened to announce the passing of our journalist, Edward Muhumuza, in a car accident. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.”
The body of Muhumuza has been transported to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem.

A automobile accident along the Entebbe Expressway claimed the life of Edward Muhumuza. On Saturday morning at Mpala on the Entebbe Expressway, he was driving a Toyota Passo when an accident occurred.
Muhumuza’s close friend said:
“He was going to school, he spent the better part of the night working on his coursework, then in the morning he set off.”
Pictures received indicate that he was involved in a really bad accident. His work bags and documents were scattered around him as his corpse lay on the ground. The terrible collision caused the steering wheel to be yanked out of the vehicle as well. He can also be seen lying next to his destroyed automobile.

Photos taken at the scene show Muhumuza’s lifeless body next to an overturned car with the plate number UBG 323S. He was wearing a jacket with the NTV logo on it.
Allan Ssempebwa, a spokeswoman for the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), confirmed the incident that happened on Saturday morning.
Ssempebwa told ChimpReports,
“Our rescue team on Entebbe Expressway confirmed a fatal crash this morning towards the Mpala exit section,” Ssempebwa told ChimpReports when contacted for comment.
“The occupant is believed to be Edward Muhumuza, an anchor with the NTV given the records of identity found on him.
“The Police has taken over the scene to establish further details relating to the crash and will possibly release a statement.”
Vicent Kyasiimire and other Entebbe traffic officials were called to the scene to look into the accident’s causes.
Who was Edward Muhumuza?
Ugandan news reporter Edward Muhumuza worked for Nation Television (NTV). Muhumuza earned a prize at the Uganda National Journalism Awards in 2022 for the best reporting on land and real estate.

Edward has been a journalist working with NTV Uganda, he also previously worked with Urban Tv, Bukedde Tv/ Vision group May his soul rest in peace and we pray that the Lord comfort the bereaved family . 😭😢”
Human Rights Activists Pius Jadwar tweeted,
“The news that@ntvuganda journalist Edward Muhumuza died in a car accident breaks our hearts. We send our condolences to his family and associates. Peace be upon him”
