At an Englewood gas station early on Friday, a man was shot and killed.
Just before 2 a.m., the 29-year-old was at a gas station in the 200 block of West 63rd Street when a man approached him and opened fire, according to Chicago police.
Police said that the man was shot in the chest and transferred to University of Chicago Medical Centre, where doctors declared him dead.
Police did not formally disclose the victim’s identification. Through a Facebook post by his close friend and her mother, we learned that the victim was a 29-year-old Chicagoan named Vante Rusty.
His Girlfriend Lee Nardia wrote: “I would never ever in life leave your side Bff

Lee Nardia’s mother expressed in a post how much her daughter Nardia was devastated by his passing and how much he meant to her by loving her.
She wrote: “I Loved you Like I Birthed you Myself Son Son My Baby Best-friend Since 10 You just Crushed My Baby Heart to see her Break down Like that Crushed me Her Caption is everything you meant to her We Love you Vante Rusty always and forever”
Vante Rusty worked at True Religion Brand Jeans. He attended Paul Robeson High School and Kennedy-King College for his studies.
There were no recorded arrests. Detectives from Area One are investigating into it.

Police were called to a shooting at 1:19 a.m. on Saturday in the 5900 block of West Diversey Avenue. When they arrived, they discovered a 29-year-old man with two grazing wounds to the head. The victim was transported in excellent condition to Community First Hospital. Officers were informed by a witness that the victim was being shot at by two unidentified criminals.
Police were called to a shooting at 12:14 a.m. on Sunday in the 600 block of West Scott Street. When they arrived, they discovered a 29-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to the thigh and one to the arm. The victim said to the police that as he was riding his bicycle, he heard shots being fired and felt pain. The victim, who was in fair condition, was transferred to Northwestern Hospital.
