First A38 accident near Plymouth

Diversion route installed

As the A38 Westbound near Buckfastleigh remains closed and police do work on an earlier incident, National Highways has offered cars a detour route. According to the National Highways website, the route is as follows:

  • At the A384 intersection towards Buckfastleigh, leave the A38 traveling west.
  • At the bottom of the slip road, turn left to join the A384.
  • For around 4 miles, head south on the A384 in the direction of Dartington.
  • Take the third exit from the A384/A385 roundabout to join the A385 heading west toward Marley Head.
  • The A385 should be followed for about 4 miles until it meets the A38.
  • Take the second exit from the roundabout to rejoin the A38 westbound.
