Ballyfermot man Ross Rice dies after crash in Kildare
After a driver fled the scene of a collision in which a passenger was killed in Co. Kildare, police are searching for information.
At around 10.50 p.m. on Tuesday, a truck and a car collided on the R403. Celbridge is the scene. A man in his 20s who was a passenger in the automobile, according to Garda, suffered fatal injuries.
The car’s driver, however, “failed to remain at the scene.” A 30-year-old man who was driving the truck was unharmed.
The site was kept intact so that a technical inspection could be done, which was done on Wednesday morning. Since then, the road has reopened.
What happened to Ross Rice?
Ross Rice, a 20-year-old male, has been named as the victim of a fatal collision between a truck and a car on Tuesday evening.
The 20-year-old was killed, according to Gardai, when a lorry and a car crashed near Celbridge’s R403 road. Law enforcement agencies reacted to reports of a collision at about 10:50 o’clock.
The car’s driver abandoned the scene and has not been found, according to Gardai. Ross Rice was identified as having passed away at the crash site. The route was examined technically by Gardai and is now open once more.

Garda is requesting witnesses
“Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Tuesday night, 18th July 2023 on the R403 in Celbridge, Co . Kildare.
“The scene was preserved to allow for a technical examination, which was conducted this morning. The road has now reopened. “Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to them.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and be traveling in the area are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
