Six bodies were found in a marshy area of Quebec close to Canada’s border with New York state, according to the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service.

“The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Marine unit continued to search the area with assistance from the Coast Guard and the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department.

What happened at Quebec border?
The corpses of six persons were discovered in the Tsi Snaihne area, which was east of Akwesasne and located in Quebec on the southern bank of the St. Lawrence River.

He claimed that a Canadian Coast Guard helicopter found the corpses in Canadian waters. The discovery of the bodies coincided with the search for a missing Akwesasne community member that also began Thursday, Dulude said.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police and the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service both reported last month that there has been an increase in recent unlawful entries through their lands and waterways.
