Rod Stewart Illness: What happened to the British Pop Singer? Everything we know so far

Rod Stewart reveals the unknown illness that caused the last-minute cancellation of the most expected Concert. The pop singer’s fans want to know what happened to him and are concerned that he may have an awful illness. After that, Stewart responded to all of these inquiries by revealing his condition on his Instagram page. The unknown ailment that compelled a last-minute cancellation of Rod Stewart’s A Day on the Green performance in Geelong has been discovered. Keep reading this article to learn more details about Rod Stewart’s Illness.

What happened to the British Pop Singer?

The reason behind yesterday’s last-minute postponement of A Day on the Green in Victoria has been disclosed by Sir Rod Stewart.

Stewart said in a post on Instagram that he has a viral infection that has prevented him from singing. He added,

“I’m utterly devastated that I’m failing my fans who purchased tickets to A Day On The Green. I was informed late this morning that I have a viral illness and that singing might aggravate my sore throat. Because I’m only human, I occasionally get sick as you do.

News made just before the gates at Geelong’s Mound Duneed Estate were scheduled to open upset Stewart’s supporters and those of other musical giants Jon Stevens and Cyndi Lauper.

Live Nation and Roundhouse Entertainment, the event’s promoters, announced the cancellation in a statement posted online:

The concert by Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, and Jon Stevens is scheduled for tonight, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Mount. Duneed Estate in Geelong, will not take place owing to illness, Live Nation and Roundhouse Entertainment regret to say. Ticket holders were instructed to hang onto their tickets while waiting for news in the ensuing days.

“We apologize for the ticket holders’ displeasure and inconvenience. Early next week, there will be another announcement on the concert arrangements, according to the statement.

Fans’ Reaction to last-minute Cancellation

Several fans vented their anger on social media about the cancellation and how they were informed.

one person commented, “I hope their insurance will pay for our lodging and day off from work. Holders of tickets are not notified through email. Finally got an email at 1.52 pm, 63 minutes before the bus was supposed to pick us up from the hotel,”

“Why am I not getting any notifications? Facebook is inadequate because I’ve already arrived in Geelong. drove up this morning from Melbourne and paid $400 for lodging,” added another.

Michael Newton of Roundhouse Entertainment defended the choice to inform ticket holders via social media.

He informed The Geelong Advertiser that all ticket buyers had received emails and SMS earlier today via Ticketmaster. “We started disseminating information within 15 minutes of learning that tonight’s event would not go on, working as swiftly as we could to get the word out to everyone as soon as we were apprised of the news.

Adding that he realized people were traveling expressly for the event, he said only the individual who booked the tickets would have received the information from Ticketmaster, thus not all attendees would have received the notice.

“Therefore, regardless of whether you were the purchaser or not, by sharing the news via social media this would ensure the news would get to as many of tonight’s concert-goers as possible, as quickly and efficiently as possible,” he said.
