Jude Moore, a two-time national champion boxer has passed away on March 17, 2023. Jude Moore, who trained at Downend Boxing in Fishponds, was found dead on Friday.
His family has confirmed that Jude Moore, who represented England at the 2017 EUBC Junior European Championships in Romania, passed away on March 17.
Moore, who was scheduled to compete this week in Milan, trained at Downend Boxing in Fishponds, Bristol. Just before he passed away, he defeated the Polish national winner in his first senior bout.
The boy had just begun his coaching at the Hoddesdon Boxing Academy in Hertfordshire, which is run by Sab Leo.
Moore’s old trainer at Bristol’s Downend boxing club, Craig Turner, paid tribute to the younger boxer.
“He was an absolute star, irreplaceable,” he said. When you met him, you’d always remember him.” He continued: “He has been excellent in every part he has executed and we’re devastated. It didn’t burn lengthy, but it surely burned very brightly for the time it was executed.”
Turner has set up a Go Fund Me website, with the money raised going to Moore’s family. The sudden death of our amateur boxer Jude has the boxing community saddened, according to a press statement on the Hoddesdon fitness center’s Facebook page.
Who was Jude Moore?
Jude Moore was a Bristol-born junior boxer who was born in 2003. He won the varsity class in 2015 and the junior class in 2017, becoming a two-time national junior winner. His father and uncle inspired him to become a boxer.
In 2017, he competed for England in the European Youth Championship. He had only recently fought in his first senior novice fight, winning by defeating the Polish champion, and the week after his death, he was supposed to fight in Milan.
He’s survived by his parents Mark and Carla and brothers Ethan and Beau.

Jude Moore dies suddenly at the age of 19. His coach, Craig Turner, told: ‘He was an absolute star, irreplaceable. Once you met him, you would never forget him.
‘The fact that he came from one of the most deprived wards in Great Britain to do what he did and achieved what he did is nothing short of amazing.’
His Downend coach has set up a GoFundMe page to support his siblings Ethan and Beau, as well as his parents Mark and Carla.
Jude, a talented and physically fit 19-year-old boxer, was tragically taken from us on March 17, 2023, according to the statement. However, the cause of death was not disclosed.
‘His parents, Mark and Carla, and brothers, Ethan and Beau, currently have no answers as to what happened to this larger-than life character.
‘Whilst nothing anyone can say or do can lessen the sense of loss they and everyone who knew Jude feels, we can show them our love and support with a donation towards the cost of the funeral that should never have to be.
