The Columbus Police department, Georgia, announced the death news of a young police officer on their social media post by releasing a statement.

The Columbus Police Department in Georgia wrote;

“We’re sad to announce that we lost one of our brothers yesterday. Officer John Marr was a 7-year veteran of the Columbus Police Department.

During his assignment in the Patrol Unit, he exemplified excellence – displaying several qualities of a good Police Officer and public servant.

The days ahead will be long and oftentimes rough. We ask that the city wrap its arms around Ofc. Marr’s family and loved ones as they mourn his loss. Please also take a moment to pray for the men and women of CPD, who are grieving alongside his family.

John, a young police officer suddenly committed suicide. The entire Columbus Georgia Police Department crew is in mourning over the loss of a fellow officer and team member who died in a suicide.
