Evelyn Guardado missing:
Evelyn Guardado, 24, an employee at the GEO correctional facility went missing on January 31. She was last seen on Buena Vista Drive, at Vasquez’s residence.
Police started their search hunt after she was reported missing. On Tuesday, the Texas Rangers and local police disclosed the result of their hunt.
They said that Evelyn was found after a search of a property near Quemado, Texas, 20 miles north of Eagle Pass. Shortly after the search got underway, the finding was made.
While processing the scene for evidence, authorities sealed off the area where the deceased was found.
As investigators investigated the scene, the mother of the missing woman sobbed and cried after learning that her daughter was deceased.
What happened to Evelyn?
Evelyn Guardado’s body was discovered on a farm near Quemado in northern Maverick County on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
Her corpse was littered with garbage, with obvious significant bruises with clear signs of strangulation.
Authorities revealed the body’s discovery on the ranch behind a dense bush during a press conference on Tuesday.
According to Breitbart Texas, Guardado’s family alerted local officials to her abduction, and they launched an inquiry.
Guardado was a licensed police officer who had previously served in Maverick County as a deputy constable.
After making several unsuccessful calls to the missing woman’s phone, family members discovered that it had been turned off soon after she vanished.
Investigation:
On Thursday, police discovered Guardado’s gray Dodge Charger in an Eagle Pass apartment building.
The car was seized as evidence, according to Federico Garza, chief of police in Eagle Pass.
Evelyn’s relatives became frustrated and started their own inquiry by visiting nearby businesses and seeking security camera footage to find her.
They succeeded when a nearby department store’s surveillance camera caught her car as it entered a residential area less than a mile from the Rio Grande.
The information led officers to a property nearby where they found proof that Evelyn’s car had previously been there before she moved into the apartment building.
An arrest has been made in connection with the case, Chief Garza informed the media on Monday.
