It’s with great sadness to learn of the passing of the Legendary Tom Dees FOX13 Memphis earlier today. I knew Tom was fighting some severe uphill battles. I had just chatted with him two days ago to let him know that he was on my mind.

Tom and I did a news segment together back a few months ago in November. During the chat, Tom said that he knew his time was short and had only hoped to see his kids finish up their school year. Tom was fighting hard to make it the last few months til May.

He wanted to see their accomplishments… He will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family, Ally Dees, Cathy Guice Dees.

RIP Tom. Tom Dees was a coworker of mine for more than 10 years. He was also a very good friend of mine when I was in Memphis. I know y’all in Memphis and the entire Midsouth loved Tom so very much. He was truly a good man. Tom was an incredible person who loved his family more than anything in this world. And as a true storyteller at heart when reporting the news. My heart breaks for Tom’s wife and children. I’m glad to have known you, my friend.
