Who was Prince Iheme?
Prince Iheme, an elder brother to Nollywood actor Osita Iheme, was also killed during a separate attack in Ubomiri, another community in the council area of the state. The gunmen also attacked, with a machete, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals in the state, Martin Eke, according to a report by The Nation newspaper.
What happened at the Scene-Eyewitness Reported
The commissioner reportedly received a severe sword cut from the attackers. According to an eyewitness, the gunmen randomly opened fire while ordering spectators and drivers to leave so they could watch a sit-at-home protest in Orji, Owerri North council area, where they also ran through a police roadblock and killed one officer.

Mr. Iheme, the elder brother to the Nollywood actor, Osita, was killed when the gunmen attacked the convoy of Akarachi Amadi, the All Progressives Congress candidate for Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru Federal Constituency.
Iheme and Eke were being attacked by the shooters when they were inside one of the convoy’s cars. Witnesses claimed that Mr. Eke was hacked with a machete while Mr. Iheme was shot dead by the shooters on the scene.

In the meantime, some gunmen attacked locals in Urualla, a town in the state’s Ideato North Local Government Area. For the time being, it is unclear if they were the same shooters who killed the police officer and Mr. Iheme, the actor from Nollywood’s older brother.

Simon Ekpa, a controversial top player activist and the founder of Autopilot IPOB, a subgroup of the IPOB, had called for a five-day sit-in across the southeast of Nigeria from December 9 to 14.
Mr. Ekpa claimed that the sit-at-home order was in response to “proactive measures” taken by unidentified Biafran protestors to address the rising insecurity in the area, which, in his opinion, was brought on by the Nigerian government.
