On Monday, October 10, 2022, Gambia Football Federation published a social media message informing people of Abdou Salaam Jammeh passing.
The President and Executive Committee of The Gambia Football Federation regret to announce to its stakeholders and the public that our former Deputy General Secretary, Mr. Abdou Salaam Jammeh has sadly passed away in India this morning where he was in treatment.
Mr. Jammeh was supposed to fly back to The Gambia today after a successful procedure and an excellent recovery. Unfortunately, he got admitted to the ICU in India yesterday and was sadly pronounced dead a couple of hours ago.
A former journalist with the defunct Daily Observer, Salaam spent the majority of his professional career as a football administrator and served as the CAF Education Officer and the DGS for the defunct GFA. He returned to Football House as the DGS in 2014 and in 2018, he decided to take voluntary retirement from professional life.

As per the reports, Salaam Jammeh has suffered from deteriorating conditions for the past few years.
