The office of The Two Holy Mosques announced on Twitter that Sheikh Awad Moawad Al-Subhi Al-Harbi, known as “The Dove of the Sanctuary” for his unwavering devotion to prayer in Masjid Al Haram, passed away at 134 years old.

“He is considered one of the long-livers in Makkah after he passed away at the age of 134.”

Who was Sheikh Oudh Al Harbi?

According to Arab media, Muawad al-Harbi, a worshipper of Masjid al-Haram for more than a century, was from Makkah and had the greatest life expectancy in Saudi Arabia.

He received the title Hammamah al-Haram, which is Arabic for “Refuge Pigeon.”

“The Dove of the Sanctuary”

Sheikh Oudh Al Harbiregularly attended prayers at Masjid al-Haram in Makah and earned the moniker “The Dove of the Sanctuary” for his unwavering devotion to this place of worship.

Sheikh Oudh Al Harbi spent the most of his time praying (salah) and conducting Tawaaf in Makkah’s Masjid Al Haram.

“Sheikh Oudh Al Harbi was a regular at Masjid Al Haram and had performed prayers at the Grand Mosque for the majority of his life.”

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in Makkah. Up until the age of 53, the Prophet (peace be upon him) lived in Makkah.

Later, he moved to Madinah, where he passed away at age 63.

According to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the reward for offering one salah at Masjid Al Haram is equal to offering 100,000 prayers.

This holds true for both the obligatory (Farz) and voluntary prayers (Nawwafil).
