Israel’s army said that an Israeli citizen Shalom Sofer was killed by his injuries after being stabbed by a terrorist on October 25 in the hamlet of Al Funduq in the northeastern West Bank. Let’s see about the victim Shalom Sofer who died in West Bank terror attack in detail.

Who was Shalom Sofer?

Israeli media reported on Tuesday the death of an Israeli man injured in a terror assault on October 25th, Monday night.

Shalom Sofer, a resident of Kedumim in Samaria, was the victim. In the nearby Palestinian town of al-Funduq, he was attacked as he left a business.

Medico topics have been trying to reach out to the family and relatives for comment on the incident. So far no responses have been received. We will update the page once enough information is available. More information about the victim Shalom Sofer will be added soon.

At the scene of the Attack

The 55-year-old man, Shalom Sofer was stabbed in the stomach while he was exiting a store in a Palestinian town. He then walked over to his car and sped off toward a nearby intersection.

Shalom Sofer was transferred to Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital after it was established that he had moderate to severe injuries at the scene of the attack.

Medical Conditions

The victim received immediate medical attention from Israeli forces who then transported him to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan.

He was recently discharged from the hospital, and it seems as though his condition has improved in the days since the stabbing while he was still aware, where he was listed in a serious to moderate condition.

Shalom Sofer, the victim, passed away from his injuries two weeks later.

Shalom’s Family statement

According to Sofer’s son, one of his wounds reopened on Monday, which caused his condition to worsen at the hospital and required the doctors to declare him dead.

“When he was released [from the hospital] we thanked [God] for the great miracle, and we were sure that after a day or two our strong father would return to normal, return to work,” Lidor Sofer said.

Lidor told Kan public radio, “father had already been home for a week. Seemingly everything was fine, and suddenly one of his wounds opened. Within a few minutes, he lost a lot of blood,”  on Tuesday.

Suspect was captured

According to the Israel Defense Forces, who have labeled the incident as a terrorist attack, the claimed Palestinian attacker was apprehended after a brief manhunt in the neighborhood.

The individual was discovered, according to the Israeli Defense Forces, after extensive searches and with the use of information from the Shin Bet security agency (IDF).

“Break the Wave” counterterrorism operation

As Israeli soldiers continue to carry out the “Break the Wave” counterterrorism operation in response to the murders of 19 people in a series of terrorist incidents, tensions are rising in the West Bank.

The operation has resulted in several skirmishes, almost nightly raids, and the detention of 2,000 Palestinians.

125 Palestinians dead

Additionally, some 125 Palestinians have died as a result of the operation. Not all of these Palestinians died while carrying out assaults or fighting with security personnel.

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) launched its anti-terror offensive in the West Bank after a spate of Palestinian attacks earlier this year that claimed the lives of 19 Israelis.

More suspect arrested

In September, a woman was brutally murdered in Holon in what was thought to be an attack. Recently, an Israeli man was killed in an incident in Hebron. In attacks and arrest missions in the West Bank, four Israeli troops have also perished.

Massive sweeps were carried out in the West Bank early on Tuesday morning, according to the Israeli Defense Forces. Eight wanted Palestinians were consequently found and arrested.

‘A unique man with a big heart’

MK Bezalel Smotrich, a well-known member of the Religious Zionist Movement, claimed to have known Sofer personally and described him as “a unique man with a big heart.”

The alleged Palestinian assailant was captured following a quick manhunt in the area, according to the Israel Defense Forces, who have described the incident as a terrorist attack.

Shalom Neighborhood people statement

One of the inhabitants of the Kedumim village, where Sofer lived, remarked that Shalom “Shalom was a warm-hearted person who helped everybody.”

“He started a business in the settlement and employed quite a few at-risk youths, and helped those who dropped out of school.”

Prime Minister shares grief about the incident

Prime Minister Yair Lapid posted on Twitter,

“It was in great sorrow that I received the message of [the death of] Shalom Sofer’s… who died of his wounds two weeks after he was attacked and stabbed by a terrorist.”

“In the name of Israel’s government and citizens, I would like to send condolences to his friends and family.”

Politicians shares grief about the incident

An Israeli lawyer and Politician Bezalel Smotrich tweeted about the information as well.

Without being a politician, he stated, “I write this painful tweet with the terrible news this morning not as a politician but as a friend who had the privilege to get to know a special man with a huge heart who will be greatly missed by his family, the residents of Kdumim and many more people,”

At this time, we want to express our condolences to the Shalom’s family, friends, and loved ones.
