Who is Tony King?

Tony King, a 59-year-old man from Cornfield Terrace, Eastbourne was identified as the suspect in killing Sabrina Cooper by Sussex police.

According to reports, Sabrina Cooper, 68, was discovered “soaked in blood” in the hallway of her Eastbourne apartment in West Sussex. On Sunday around 6:45 p.m., police were called to her residence due to concern for her welfare.

Tony King, a man she knew, has been accused of killing grandmother Sabrina after she was discovered dead at the scene. Tony King was charged with one count of murder and having an offensive weapon in a public place when he was apprehended on Monday morning.

He was kept in jail until his appearance in front of the Brighton Magistrates Court today. Through Sabrina’s father David, who was Tommy’s brother, she was linked to Welsh comedian and magician Tommy, who passed away on stage from a heart attack in 1984.

Why he killed Tommy Cooper’s niece, Sabrina Cooper?

Tony King, who was known by Sabrina Cooper killed her in front of her apartment. However, the motive behind the crime was not not known yet. Sussex police is still investigating this case.

Sabrina Cooper, 68, was described by distraught Eastbourne neighbors as a “beautiful” and “kind” woman who was “well-known locally.”

Cooper’s Magic Shops, the family business founded by her parents, was run by Sabrina in Eastbourne, East Sussex. She was upset when she had to close the business, which was beneath her flat where she was discovered, in 2017 because of some issues.

Locals described Sabrina as a “nice” woman with at least two grandchildren and two dogs. Additionally, they said that she was likely dealing with cancer. Police are still looking into this matter.

Police statement:

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers, of Sussex Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Sabrina’s family and friends at this difficult time. We are supporting them and keeping them updated on the progress of this fast-moving investigation.

Chief also stated, “We understand this incident will also cause upset and concern in the community, and I would like to reassure people that this is being treated as an isolated incident involving people known to each other, and with no threat to the wider public.

“We have already completed extensive inquiries and this has resulted in a person being arrested. And charged within 48 hours of police initially attending the address.

“Those inquiries will continue as the case progresses through the court, and we encourage anyone with concerns or information relating to what happened to get in touch with us.”
