Portage park shooting- Explained:

Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, the shooting took place at a birthday celebration for the pub owner’s niece. A gunshot took place at the Vera Lounge, which is located at 3235 N. Central Ave. off School Street in Portage Park.

According to police, a quarrel that started inside the bar spilled outside into the street, when a guy opened fire before escaping in a dark sport-utility vehicle.

The party was reportedly celebrating Maria’s birthday on Saturday night, according to a family acquaintance. Supt. Brown said in the interview, that “This incident is a tragedy, It should never escalate to a loss of life.”

Brown opted not to go into specifics about how the murders were carried out, merely calling them “heartless.” Regarding the precise cause of violence, Brown said “The rest is unexplainable.”

“It makes it a little bit easier on the family that this individual was caught,” said Ricardo Douglas – a cousin of Pozuelos, who was the victim of the shooting.

Douglas returned to the scene on Tuesday, which is only a few steps away from the pub. Nobody deserves this. There is always a way to work things out, regardless of the circumstance, Douglas stated.

“It’s family. At the end of the day, it’s a tragedy – my heart. I lost a family member, so I just came here to show my support for him.”

For the Vera family’s burial and medical costs, a GoFundMe has been created. On Wednesday, Parsons-Salas is scheduled to appear in bond court. He left flowers and a prayer for his 26-year-old cousin, and to honor the lives of Tavares — a mother to three kids — and Ricky and Mariah Vera.

Why Parsons-Sales was arrested in 2009?

On September 21, 2009, there was a double homicide, and according to the police, Parsons-Salas was one of the individuals involved.

Parsons-Salas and a second man prepared to conduct a “lick” at an apartment complex in the 3500 block of West Sunnyside by arming themselves with handguns: Doehring with a.380-caliber handgun and Parson-Salas with a 22-caliber weapon.

According to Kwilos and a police arrest record, the shooters broke through the apartment’s front door at 1 a.m. While the victims, 23-year-old Alex Santiago and 19-year-old Angelina Escobar, were asleep inside.

Doehring allegedly entered the room where Escobar and Santiago were sleeping. Then, according to Kwilos, he shot Escobar several times before shooting Santiago in the head. He has sadly claimed more lives. Our prayers are with their families during this time, Kwilos said.
