A woman from Connecticut who died in a possible axe assault had warned of danger weeks before. Let’s see Who is Ewen Dewitt and the Suspect threatens a Connecticut woman before killing her in an axe attack in detail.
What happened to the Woman?
After being attacked with an axe, a Connecticut lady who was the subject of a restraining order and order of protection was allegedly slain by her ex-boyfriend.
Julie Minogue, a 40-year-old Milford resident of New Haven County, called 911 on Tuesday, December 6, and was located by authorities at 9 p.m.
The son reportedly reported to dispatchers that his sister was being physically abused by a man inside their 76 Salem Walk home.
The culprit had already left the house before the first responding cops evacuated the house, according to the police.
Inside the house, Minogue’s body was discovered. The medical examiner will make the final determination, but investigators believe the perpetrator used an axe during the assault.
Her younger child, who was 3 years old, was found unharmed in the house. According to the authorities, family members are currently taking care of both youngsters.
How did the Suspect threaten a Connecticut woman?
The woman claimed that after Ewen Dewitt allegedly sent her threatening text messages, she was terrified he would murder her.
A Connecticut woman was killed with an axe on Tuesday, only days after receiving a complete no-contact restraining order against her alleged killer and alerting authorities to the threat she posed.
When Julie Minogue, 40, requested protection, the suspect, Ewen Dewitt, allegedly sent her obscene text messages. She stated in an affidavit dated November 17 that “I don’t feel I should be exposed to this abuse any longer.
“I worry about my own safety and the protection of my kids. With his use of drugs and alcohol, Ewen has gotten into a lot of trouble, and I’m afraid he’s going to kill me.”
Who is Ewen Dewitt?
Ewen Dewitt, a 42-year-old Roxbury resident, and inhabitant of Litchfield County were subsequently discovered and arrested in West Haven.
The following charges against DeWitt:
- Murder
- Criminal violation of a standing criminal protective order
- Criminal violation of a restraining order
- Risk of injury to a child
- Reckless endangerment
According to the Milford Police Department, Dewitt, 42, has been charged with homicide, endangering others’ safety, reckless endangering, and violating both a restraining order and a standing protection order. He made an appearance in court on Wednesday and was given a $5 million bond.
According to authorities, Minogue’s son, who is 17 years old, contacted 911 on Tuesday to report that a guy was assaulting his mother inside their home. “The suspect had already left the house when the first arriving cops cleared the house, they found.
A police statement read: “The victim was found dead inside the house.”
What did the Police Investigation confess?
According to police, investigators think an axe was used in the attack, but a medical examiner has not yet verified this. Inside the house, a three-year-old child was discovered uninjured.
He was detained for attacking Minogue in 2019, at which point a permanent restraining order was obtained. Following her complaint over the text messages, Minogue was given a complete, no-contact restraining order on December 1. Investigators found evidence of a previous relationship between the two.
