what happened to Peter salvino? Body of Missing PHD student pilled from Diversey harbour, Explained

The body of missing Northwestern Ph.D. student Peter Salvino was found Tuesday, two days after he left a North Side party. Let’s see more details about Peter Salvino and the incident in detail.

Peter Salvino was Missing

According to the university, Salvino, a Ph.D. candidate in Northwestern’s interdisciplinary neuroscience program, was reported missing by his family on Sunday.

Family members said that Salvino left a gathering on Saturday night at about 11:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Geneva Terrace in the Lincoln Park area. Salvino was seen on video near the 11:43 p.m. junction of Clark Street and Fullerton Avenue. At 11:44 p.m., he then drove by Big Apple Finer Foods.

At 11:59 p.m., Salvino FaceTimed a buddy to let them know he was on his way to his residence, which was about half a mile away in the 800 block of West Lill Avenue.

According to family members, the friend called Salvino at 12:15 a.m. to check that he had arrived home. Salvino claimed to the friend that he was still on his way home, nevertheless.

Salvino’s phone ping-ed a location close to Diversey Harbor at 12:31 in the AM. At 12:37 a.m., the friend again called Salvino to confirm he’d arrived home, but the call was not answered.

Between then and 9:30 a.m., several friends sent text messages to Salvino, all of which were successfully delivered to his cell phone but went unanswered. Around 9:45 a.m., all text messages sent to Salvino went undelivered, and all phone calls made to him went straight to voicemail, according to loved ones.

Peter’s Body pulled from Diversey Harbor

On Tuesday night, emergency crews in Chicago pulled the body of Peter Salvino from Diversey Harbor while searching the area where his cellphone last pinged before he vanished over the weekend.

Peter Salvino’s phone was last seen near Diversey Harbor in the 2400-block of North Cannon Drive early on Sunday morning, according to Chicago police. At around 5:15 p.m., the Marine Unit “responded to a follow-up investigation,” they added. Police reported pulling a body from the bay shortly before 6:30.

The body is Salvino’s, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office states that the reason and manner of Szubert’s death are still under investigation.

Young men are Disappearing

Since January, at least 3 young men in Chicago have vanished under related circumstances. While Peter Salvino is still missing, Zaki Baskaran and Krzysztof Szubert’s bodies were discovered in the ocean. Although I reject the SFK theory, it’s difficult to deny the similarities. #sfk

A few days before similar incidents have reported in Chicago. Krzysztof Szubert, 21, was pulled unresponsive from the lake at Oak Street Beach at about 1:55 a.m. and pronounced dead at a hospital, Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said. Police were investigating his death.

The body of a 21-year-old man found unresponsive early Wednesday in Lake Michigan at Oak Street Beach has been identified as Krzysztof Szubert, a Polish businessman who had been working in Chicago since November and had recently gone missing, his family and officials have confirmed to NBC 5.

According to officials, Szubert was last seen at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday during a holiday party at the River North bar Howl at the Moon.

Peter Salvino was Spotted last time

Peter Salvino was last seen at around 12:15 a.m., December 18, near the 800 block of West Lill Avenue in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The Weiner’s Circle confirmed that Salvino, who is a regular customer, stopped into the restaurant that night between 10:30 and 11 p.m., and shared an image of him caught on their surveillance video.

Peter Salvino was seen at Weiner’s Circle Saturday night on surveillance footage.

Peter’s Family released a Statement

Peter Salvino had been missing since the weekend and had been the subject of frantic searches. CBS 2’s Vermont Terry reports.

The Salvino family released the following statement Tuesday night:

“We are elated and glad to report that we located Peter earlier today while conducting a marine search in Diversey Harbor. We have been amazed by the help and support we have gotten in the previous three days in our hunt for Peter from friends, relatives, neighborhood people and businesses. We are incredibly appreciative of their persistence since it may not have led to the discovery of Peter. Our family is grateful for the privacy the world is giving us right now as we deal with this tragic loss.”

This occurs less than two weeks after Krzysztof Szubert, a Polish guy, age 21, went missing after a night out in River North and his body was recovered from Lake Michigan near Oak Street Beach.

This is heartbreaking about Peter Salvino being found dead, but this fits a long pattern of young men in Chicago leaving bars/ parties and being found in the lake away from where they were supposed to be going. It never gets looked into seriously.
