Tim Aymar’s Educational Background

After graduating from Hampton High School, Tim Aymar attended A.W. Beattie Technical School to further his education. He continued his studies of computer electronics and engineering technology at ITT Technical Institute in 2010.

In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was born on September 4, 1963. He gained notoriety for his ferocious performances with Chuck Schuldiner’s band Control Denied, but his career as a singer began much before he did.

Since 1985, he has performed with the band 313 as a singer. Later, he joined Triple x and put out an album with them. Soon after, Jim Dofka introduced him to the music of Chuck Schuldiner and Death when he invited him to join the band Psych Scream.

When Schuldiner heard Aymar’s vocals on Psycho Scream, he wanted to work with him and contacted him through their common friend and bandmate Jim Dofka.

Tim Aymar’s Career

He was chosen to be the new lead singer for Schuldiner’s band, Control Denied, following a three-song audition. The first local band to receive national sponsorship from Anheuser-Busch/Budweiser Anheuser-Busch was Aymar’s band Triple-X.

When they won best metal band at the In Pittsburgh Music Awards in 1990, they did so as the first local band to do so. Tim was also named “Vocalist of the Year” by various rock and entertainment magazines in the Pittsburgh region based on reader votes.

Tim put a lot of effort into getting the best vocal and production performance out of Helios, and it was an honor for us to work with him on those projects. His family, friends, and admirers from all across the world will miss him dearly.

Tim Aymar’s Awards & Recognitions

Just saw a report from the official DEATH page that Tim Aymar from Control Denied (w/ Chuck Schuldiner) and Pharaoh passed away today. Absolutely bummed. The Fragile Art Of Existence is one of my favorite records of all time and his voice is one of the main reasons why. Ugh. Sucks. #RIPTim

313 posted,

It is with tears in my eyes that I tell you that Tim Aymar has passed away. I have no details yet. I’m just going over all the pictures of our career and friendship that began on a magical day in 1979 when I auditioned for our first band Alladinsane. We went on to form Overlord. After that, we formed 313 with Mark, Doug, and Ned.

The Fall of Me posted,
