Late on Thursday night, two individuals were shot in Calumet City, one of them died.
When a 911 caller reported a shooting victim in the same block at 11:45 p.m., Calumet City officers were already on their way to the 300 block of Paxton Avenue to react to a ShotSpotter alarm.
Two guys, 25 and 28, were discovered by the police with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save his life, the 28-year-old man was declared dead at the scene, according to authorities.
28-year-old Thomas Robinson was the victim. Some witnesses said that his body was covered with numerous shell casings. Despite not being the intended target, the victim was shot and killed, according to an another witness.
The 25-year-old victim was sent in critical condition to a local hospital.
