After being hit on a crossing outside of school, a sixth-grader from Fairfield passes away. Let’s find out what happened to Terra Star Jackson, an 11-year-old in this post.


What happened to Terra Star Jackson?

“That’s the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my life. To decide to tell somebody to turn a machine off because my baby’s leaving me,” Terra’s mother, Barbara Jackson, said in a tearful interview outside Children’s Hospital Oakland.

At 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jackson had dropped off her kid and her identical twin at school. According to her, Terra was struck while in the crosswalk as she crossed the street to talk to some friends. She hurried to the hospital after receiving a call from the police shortly after the crash to report what had transpired.

“That didn’t at all resemble her. Her entire body swelled.  How could this have happened, I wonder? How was this possible to happen?” Jackson remarked.

Due to the presence of children in her vehicle, officers detained 32-year-old Elena McGraw-Ogans on suspicion of child endangerment and driving while intoxicated. On Monday, McGraw-Ogans must appear in court.

The family feels that despite the arrest, more might have been done to safeguard Terra. “In the school, there were no crossing guards. Nothing, Jackson said, not even buttons for the youngsters to push to cross the street.

On a Sunday afternoon, KTVU visited the crosswalk and observed many cars cruising by at high speeds. When we attempted to cross at the junction when the cameras were rolling, several automobiles failed to stop.

Living close to the crossing, Daniel Tatum remarked,

“I’m amazed this is the first one that has been hit because the folks don’t slow down.” The family of Terra requests that the city and the school immediately make the crosswalk safer.

“Her life shouldn’t be wasted, in my opinion. There must be action taken, and I want to prevent this from happening to other children and parents “Jackson remarked. On Sunday, district representatives did not immediately respond to our messages.

Jackson claimed that Terra want to become a doctor in order to assist people’s hearts. In order for Terra’s heart to save the life of another child, the family decided to donate her organs. She would have preferred that Jackson said.
