Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti 2022: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose gave slogans of “You give me blood, I will give you freedom” and “Jai Hind”. The birth anniversary of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose is celebrated every year on 23 January. Born to mother Prabhavati Bose and father Jankinath Bose, Netaji considered Swami Vivekananda as his spiritual guru. He formed a military regiment, the Azad Hind Fauj, to counter the British.

Subhash Chandra Bose also created a women’s battalion named Rani Jhansi Regiment. Bose was the one who first referred to Mahatma Gandhi as the Father of the Nation.

This great freedom fighter was imprisoned 11 times during the period from 1921 to 1941. While in jail, he assumed the post of mayor of Calcutta in 1930. The Azad Hind radio station in Germany was established by Netaji. Phrases like ‘Jai Hind’, ‘Delhi Chalo’, ‘Give me blood and I will give you freedom’ were coined by Netaji. It is said that when Netaji spent his time in Germany to mobilize support for India’s independence, he was said to have married Emilie Schenkl, an Austrian woman. And the famous German economist Anita Bose was his daughter.

When he was under house arrest in 1941, he had planned to escape in disguise with his accomplice Sisir Bose. Being monitored day and night by the police, it was Netaji’s brainchild to allow the escape under the guise of something that doesn’t seem unusual. Something that happens every day. Thus, citing the reason for turning a transistor for uncle Subhash, Sisir visited Netaji every day, and finally with Netaji’s foresight his grand escape plan came true. Netaji had met the then Italian Foreign Minister Galeazzo Ciano in 1941, who discussed the draft Declaration of Independence with him. Netaji’s death is shrouded in mystery, and we are all aware of it. After the much talked about news of the plane crash in Taiwan on August 18, 1945, it was believed that Subhas Chandra Bose lived in UP disguised as a ‘sadhu’. People knew him as Gumnami Baba. Netaji was a brilliant student. Despite clearing the Indian Civil Services Examination, he resigned from the government post to fight for India’s independence. He was best known as the editor of the ‘Forward’ newspaper introduced by his mentor Chittaranjan Das. ‘Swaraj’, yet another newspaper was started by him. Netaji’s book ‘The Indian Struggle’ was published in 1935.

After passing the Intermediate examination in the first class in childhood, Subhash Chandra Bose went to England to study the Indian Administrative Service. It was a big achievement for the Indians that they got the fourth position in this examination. However, he did not accept the slavery of the British. After that, he became the youth teacher and commandant of the volunteers of the Bengal Congress. He started the newspaper ‘Swaraj’.
