“It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of brother, teacher, friend Mouaz Al-Nass. A light has extinguished. He was so close to us at Risala that it’s hard to imagine Risala without him. We are in deep mourning at the loss of our friend – not for him, for we know what awaits him – but for all of us, at what we have lost. We walked with a true friend of God.”

The Risala Foundation is hosting a campaign, and the money raised will be transferred right to the family of Mouaz Al-Nass.

Shaykh Samir, the father of Mouaz, is a well-known scholar from Damascus who earned medical degrees in Syria and the United States. He is an authentic traditional scholar who has devoted his life to learning the Islamic sciences from eminent figures in Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. He often runs educational programmes in North America and England.
