Who was Larry Triplett Jr?

Larry Triplett was born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee, which is located about 75 northeast of Memphis. When Larry was 11 years old, he made the decision that he wanted to be a drummer and has been playing ever since.

He first felt the need to act in his sophomore year of high school. Throughout high school, he signed up for the theatre arts course and took part in a number of different productions.

Larry chose to enroll in Jackson State Community College after receiving his high school diploma, where he tried out for the school’s musical ensemble. He succeeded, winning a full scholarship. In 2011, Larry started appearing in films and took part in a number of regional independent projects, as well as film classes and workshops.

Larry Triplett Jr served as the Public Education Officer at the Fire Department for the City of Jackson, Tennessee. Before this, he spent the years 2012 to 2020 as a firefighter for Madison County Fire Rescue.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of long time member Larry Triplett Jr. Larry passed away overnight after battling an extended illness.

His great personality made a tremendous positive impact on the City of Jackson, TN – Fire Department and the entire community.”

Larry was like a giant teddy bear—always joyful, beaming, and illuminating all the places he entered. The Fire Department and the entire community ask that everybody keep Larry’s family and friends in their prayers.

According to the Jackson Fire Department, Larry Triplett Jr. passed away after an extended illness. Larry Triplett Jr. posted on Facebook on May 23, 2023, stating that he had been admitted to the hospital due to illness.

And on May 29, he provided an update stating that he would be released from the hospital following a test on May 31. As he stated, he received his discharge on June 1 and returned home.

And on June 2, he underwent a test known as a blood volume analysis, which is often carried out on patients in intensive care who have ailments like renal, liver, or heart failure. In addition, he claimed that he was the first person in the history of West Tennessee Health Care to undergo this treatment. He had all of the procedures, but despite that, his condition deteriorated, and he sadly passed away from organ failure.

I will never hear Purple Rain or Billie Jean without thinking of you my friend. You will be missed by so many! Jackson won’t be the same without you! RIP”

Jeff Haltom wrote: “Shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of my good friend and acting buddy, Larry Triplett Jr. From meeting him at Jackson Filmhouse to our humble beginnings as bouncers in a short film to becoming my arch nemesis in The Stix to his starring role in Smith. He was a good friend and a great actor. RIP, brother.”
