The Sandown & Shanklin Rugby Football Club has learned of the recent passing of its club president Graham Thomas. Graham Thomas’ death was announced on Facebook on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. “It is with heavy hearts that SSRFC has to report the very sad news that our Club President Graham Thomas passed away yesterday morning unexpectedly.” 

“A respected man with a happy and infectious sense of humour and a massive heart, his loss sits heavily on all Hurricanes. As a club we send our deepest condolences to his beloved Angie and family and will do everything we can to support them through this difficult time.”

Graham Thomas, the president of Sandown & Shanklin Rugby club suddenly passed away. Sandown & Shanklin Rugby club is a Rugby club in Sandown, England. Graham Thomas served as a club’s member for 40 years.

Who was Graham Thomas?

Graham Thomas was a Sandown & Shanklin Rugby club member who participated actively for well over 40 years. He held a variety of positions on the Committee including player, captain, coach, chairman, and president. Graham presided over the Club as well. 

He was a founder of both the youth rugby program on the Isle of Wight and the Vectis Rugby Club. He was one of the original coaches who conceived of and founded the program. Recently, Sandown & Shanklin Rugby club celebrated its 60th anniversary.
