In Santa Monica, California, on November 21, cancer claimed the life of Nick Holly, a manager, writer, and producer who co-created the ABC comedy series “Sons & Daughters.” He was 51.

Who was Nick Holly?

Holly, who is originally from Geneva, New York, played lacrosse at Rutgers University before relocating to Hollywood, where he began his career in the CAA mailroom.

Later, after working as an agent for Buchwald, he founded the management firm Epiphany Alliance. He collaborated with his client Fred Goss to develop “Sons & Daughters,” a half-hour comedy, in 2006 through Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.

Nell Benjamin, Matthew Flanagan, David McHugh, and Larry O’Keefe were among the authors he oversaw for Broadway, television, and film.

He also contributed to the animated series “The LeBrons.”

As per the reports, Nick Holly cause of death was confirmed as a long battle with lung cancer. His father, Grant Holly, and brother, Alexander Holly, preceded him in death. His mother Michael Holly, stepfather Keith Moxey, sister Lauren Holly, and girlfriend Amy Shapiro are all still alive.

On Wednesday, December 7 at 2:00 pm, a memorial service will be held at St. Augustine By-The-Sea, 1227 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, with a reception to follow.

Holly’s memory may be honored by contributions to upstage lung cancer/ and Heal The Bay.

Holly’s family statement

He “liked the beach, the wilderness, and touring the world, climbing mountains from Baldy to Kilimanjaro,” according to a statement from his family.

Holly was a larger-than-life character and a funny storyteller who delighted his numerous pals with dramatic accounts of his numerous exploits.

Holly was the hero everywhere she went, from the Serengeti grasslands to the produce section of Whole Foods.

He will be remembered as a great thinker, philosopher, and Scotch enthusiast by everyone who knew and loved him.

Holly’s career

Holly established Epiphany Alliance Inc. as well, and he represented authors such as Nell Benjamin, Laurence O’Keefe, Matthew Flanagan, and David McHugh.

Sons & Daughters was produced by him and a former client, writer-director Fred Goss. The single-camera comedy about a blended family, which was created with Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, ran for 11 episodes in March and April 2006.

In the episode, Goss played a struggling Ohio guy who lives with his wife and children, his child from a former marriage, his remarried mother, his great-aunt, his stepfather, and his sisters, half-sisters, nephews, and nieces.

In a 2006 interview with the Associated Press, Holly said that instead of a standard script, the performers were handed a “short tale,” which “sometimes has a line or two of speech but is usually just this novelization.” There was no laugh track for the series. In 2011, he collaborated with Goss to write for the YouTube animated comedy The LeBrons.
