Famous Hollywood stuntman and actor George P. Wilbur died at the age of 81 on Wednesday. Let’s see more details about George P. Wilbur in the following paragraphs.
What happened to George P. Wilbur?
Wilbur’s fellow Michael Myers performer Chris Durand, who played the character in 1998’s Halloween H20, broke the news of his passing on Facebook earlier today: “George P. Wilbur passed away last night. George, you were a class act and well-loved. You will be missed. May you Rest in Peace.”
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers screenwriter Daniel Farrands reacted to the news by saying, “Very sad to hear of George’s passing. He was such a kind soul and a beloved member of the Halloween family.“

George P. Wilbur Cause of Death
Wilbur died in February 2023, at the age of 81. At this point, it is unknown precisely what led to his death apart from the confirmation of his death and the exact cause of his death of George was not released as well.
George’s friends claimed that he was suffering memory problems when they last saw him.”The last time I saw George was at H40 Halloween 40 Years of Terror in Pasadena. I knew something was off with him because quite frankly he was driving me a little crazy that weekend. But I didn’t know this was a result of him having memory issues that would make him confused and forget things. Sadly H40 would be his last convention appearance ever.”
George is survived by his daughter, Gena Wilbur. Our sincere condolences go out to Wilbur’s family, friends, and fans. It is really sad to know that the film’s Michael Myers is no longer with us.

Few Facts about Wilbur
A couple of highlights were the time a big group of us went to Universal Horror Nights in Orlando back in 2006. Tom Savini, Richard Brooker, James Duval, Nathan & Jessica Hanneman, Tony Todd, Jane Wiedlin, George P. Wilbur, and his daughter Gena were all there. It was a blast! One of my favorite photos from that night was George giving Jane from the Go-Go’s bunny ears. We also did a limited edition signature series Myers mask with him through my old mask company Silver Shampain Novelties. He was very proud of that mask that had his embossed signature on its neck. George could be ornery & stubborn at times but was a great guy and one hell of a stuntman with a legendary career that will still be entertaining people for generations to come. He was the first Michael Myers I saw on the Big Screen and the last Michael Myers I met. He was at @FlappersComedy Club in Burbank when I was hosting in the Yoohoo room in 2015. I had to start the show, but while a comic was on stage I was able to track him down and get this picture, then run back to the yoohoo room in time to introduce the next comic. |

Rest in Peace George P. Wilbur, the man who played Michael Myers in Halloween 4-6 (Don Shanks also played Michael in Pt 5). A lot of people hate these three entries into the franchise but they’re some of my earliest memories in life. I remember being about 3 years old and watching Halloween 4, that moment in Jamie’s dream when he rises from the other side of her bed stuck with me for years! I guess I know what’s on my watchlist for today. Rest easy George.

RIP George Wilbur, longtime stuntman & two-time michael myers in the Halloween franchise. H4 & H6 are far from perfect films, but a few of my favorite shots in any of the movies were with George behind the mask.
