What happened to DJ Sumbody?

DJ Sumbody, a well-known disc jockey from South Africa, reportedly died from gunshot wounds early this morning. Since Saturday night, the Pretoria-based DJ has been trending on social media. Users claim that an image of a Volkswagen Golf 7 gtI that has been shot up belongs to DJ Sumbody.

It’s alleged that Dj Sumbody was shot with his two bodyguards this morning around Woodmead while going to the gig. No official statement as yet from the family.

As per online reports, it was confirmed that DJ passed away after severe Gunshots. Dj Sumbody, real name Oupa John Sefoka, is said to have passed away. Let’s say he left news cafe Woodmead on his way to a game.

The owner of Ayepyep as well as the hit makers of “Monate mpolaye,” “Suka emabhozeni,” “iyamemeza,” and “Azul” were shot together with His bodyguards.

MANAGEMENT CONFIRMS THE PASSING OF DJ SUMBODY

Artist and Musician DJ Sumbody has died. Details of his untimely death cannot be released but the artist named Oupa John Sefoka allegedly ran into an unfortunate incident that led to his passing in the early hours of Sunday morning, 20 November 2022.

Details surrounding his passing cannot be disclosed as investigations are still ongoing.

The Sefoka family and Sumsounds Music Management have kindly requested privacy during this difficult time and will release a statement in due course.

Details of the Funeral and Memorial Service will be confirmed.

DJ Sumbody: Biography

Oupa John Sefoka, often known as DJ Sumbody, is a South African musician and disc jockey who was born on June 9. He gained notoriety for being the creator of Ayepyep and Monate Mpolaye.

Suk’emabhozeni, one of his singles that propelled him to stardom in the music industry, nearly turned into a national anthem. In the 1980s, on June 9th, DJ Sumbody was born. South Africa’s Pretoria is where he was born. The DJ, who was born in South Africa, also runs his own business.

Dj Sumbody has been introducing Cape Town to notable artists throughout the month, including Cassper Nyovest, Thuli Phongolo, Boity, and Lamiez, to mention a few. 

Ayepyep Cape Town has been launching promotional projects on particular days for patron enjoyment ever since the establishment’s opening. DJ Sumbody shared a photo of a social initiative from AyepyeplifestyleCPT on his Instagram on April 21 as an act of kindness and social duty. 

“Our hearts go out to all the students affected by the UCT fires,” the caption reads. During this period, Cptayepyeplifestyle would like to offer assistance. 

The idea intends to provide lunchboxes to Cape Town students. Additionally, Dj Sumbody’s most recent activities include a musical tour of South Africa with his well-known friend Cassper Nyovest.

ALL-WHITE PARTY, ANNUAL

The DJ was counting down to his Ayepyep fifth edition All White Vueve Picnic, as evidenced by his Instagram stories and pictures. 

The intended time for the event was Sunday, November 20, from 12:00 to 22:00.

Boity, Cassper Nyovest, Lady Du, and many other artists were on the roster this year. The festival takes place at Pretoria’s Menlyn Maine Front Lawns and is a laid-back outdoor day-to-night summer experience. 

According to Computicket, it will be all-white with a hint of orange.

Previously worked as a Taxi Driver

The Iyamemeza hitmaker initially began ferrying commuters on early-morning cab routes in order to raise money for vinyl records while still in high school. 

He handled the cabs for his father.

Additionally, DJ Sumbody was a radio host.

The radio was another interest of the music producer.  He worked as a volunteer at a community radio station in Tshwane before getting his big break in the music business.

He ultimately received his own show, Mashaedi on the Engage, along with DJ Syco and Lee on Tshwane FM because of his work ethic.
