Who was Alan Roth?

Alan grew up in New York City and was born in Dix Hills, New York. He received his diploma from Half Hollow Hills West.

He continued his education at California State University, Northridge, after high school. Alan was the CEO and founder of the Sign Language Center (SLC).

The Sign Language Center was founded to bridge the communication gap between the hearing and deaf communities.

Alan’s high level of enthusiasm and patience make him an excellent candidate to teach American Sign Language.

SLC’s instructors come from a range of cultural backgrounds and are all “Native” Deaf.
In a non-competitive, conversational setting, it’s instructors work to help their students acquire a greater grasp of ASL and Deaf culture.

His funeral service will be held at New Montefiore Cemetery in Babylon NY
1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704 at 1pm on Sunday, February 12, 2023.

ASL interpreters will be provided.
