Who was Donnie Baker?

Donnie Baker is a widely syndicated comedian best known for his gags about prank phone calls on “Bob and Tom Show.”

He helps numerous firms by marketing their goods and services on social media, where he has over 120 thousand followers.

His YouTube channel, which has roughly 250 million subscribers and 57 million views, is another major source of income for him.

Donnie Baker travels the nation telling stories about his boat while simultaneously selling it across the nation. His tale also makes frequent appearances of his mother Phyllis, his boss Randy, and his ex-girlfriends Patty Ferguson and Angel Skinner.

Ron Sexton, better known as Donnie Baker, is a humorous character who is “stuck in the eighties” and “would never admit defeat.” Popular expressions include “State Law!” “I swear to God,” and “I’ll say it right to your face.”

Donnie Baker’s persona is a fantastic representation of a Kentucky hillbilly. Sexton created Baker in 2005 while providing voiceovers for many characters on the well-known Bob & Tom radio comedy program.

Since 2005, the native of Indiana who now resides in Florida has played a crucial role in the hit radio show, providing the voices of the rascally redneck Donnie Baker, the aged good old guy Floyd the Trucker, and the hyperactive traveling salesman Kenny Tarmac.

It wasn’t until 2007 that comedian and buddy Greg Hahn pointed out the missed opportunity with the listener favorites that the recurring characters were included in his nightclub act.

After six years of touring just as his most well-known on-air persona, Baker expanded the performance in 2011 to add Kenny Tarmac and Floyd the Trucker.

Baker became emotionally attached to a fictional character and as a result, he formed the comedy band Donnie Baker and the Pork Pistols, which released songs like “Not my Rubber” and “Okay to Drive.”

A video of Donnie Baker called “Missing Boat during Shark Week with Donnie Baker” that Sexton posted on YouTube in 2015 has since racked up over three million views.

It is clear from the level of elaboration Sexton offers to well-known characters like Baker that he gave his fictional friends the kind of thought he claimed to have given them as a child.

Baker claims to have based Donnie Baker on people he knew from high school, but after touring the play, he realized how universally accessible the character was.

He claims that everyone is familiar with someone like Donnie, whether they worked or went to school with him. As Baker keeps performing, his audience around the world keeps growing.

Many people expressed their profound sympathies to his family and expressed how much they loved him. The news of this occurrence has upset his supporters and fans.

Morning Drive DJ / Program Director at 100.9FM WBDC, Ty Hunter wrote: “The man behind the famous “Donnie Baker” character unexpectedly passed away yesterday. Many years ago Ron joined me on the radio for my morning show as Donnie Baker. Before we went on I asked him what he wanted me to talk about. He told me “whatever you want… I’ll be ready” and he was. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard in my life. After the interview he and I talked for quite a bit about life in general. He gave me his personal cell number and told him to call him anytime he was in the area. Unfortunately I never got the nerve. Ron Sexton was a genuine person and one of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with. My thoughts are with his family and friends. #StateLaw”

Kaden Suter wrote: “RIP Donnie Baker. Never forget when you told my mom you’d make her dangly earrings sound like wind chimes. Then looked at me and said is that your mom? “Never mind”
