Wilkinstown Community Centre Ltd. just posted on Facebook that David has passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. At this time, the cause of his death is still under investigation.

However, several reports assert that the adored McAteer passed away in a fatal accident; that statement has not yet been verified.

In a social media post Wilkinstown community centre posted this sad news saying,

“It is with the deepest sadness and a heavy heart that we write on the sudden and tragic loss of David McAteer. Our sincere condolences to the McAteer family, relatives, and friends. Special thoughts and prayers to Zoe, Dáithí, Alannah & Tadgh.

“As a whole community, we would ask that you remember the family at this very difficult time.”

David McAteer, a 37-year-old man whose wife is expecting their fourth child, perished while attempting to remove an impediment from a grass baler.

Funeral arrangements for David McAteer, the man killed in a horrific farm accident in county Meath yesterday, have been made public as of today. 

On his farm in Wilkinstown, 37-year-old David McAteer, a father of three, perished while attempting to remove an obstruction from a grass baler. 

Reposing at his parent’s residence (C15 RC53) on Friday from 2 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday from 2 pm to 8 pm.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11.30 a.m. on Sunday at the Church of St. Louis and St. Mary’s in Rathkenny following removal at 10.45 a.m.

Gardai said, “Gardaí responded to reports of a workplace accident in the Castletown area of Meath shortly after 12.30 pm yesterday, Tuesday, 20th June 2023. A man aged in his 30s suffered fatal injuries.

“The HSA and local coroner have been notified. The local coroner has been informed, and the Health and Safety Authority and Garda are carrying out investigations.”
