Florida Highway Patrol investigating a fatal two-car accident that happened in Jackson County at around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday near State Road 2 and Timberlane Road.

Police announced that Cottonwood resident Bobby Worley had perished in a deadly two-car collision after conducting an investigation.

Many of them who knew Bobby Worley and his community were left in absolute shock when they heard the news of his passing.

However, he will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, compassionate, and wonderful human being who had a positive impact on everyone he met.

About a two-car crash in Jackson county

A sport utility vehicle, driven by a 58-year-old man from Newville, Florida, stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of State Road 2 while traveling south on Timberlane Road with three female passengers, ages 57, and 53, and from Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

On State Road 2, just west of Timberlane Road, vehicle two, driven by a 29-year-old male from Cottonwood, Alabama, and carrying a 29-year-old female passenger, was moving east.

Vehicle One tried to cross both the east and westbound lanes of State Road 2, which caused vehicle one to enter vehicle two’s lane of travel.

Due to the collision, vehicle two crossed over and rolled over after passing through vehicle one. On State Road 2, just south of Timberlane Road, Vehicle One came to a complete stop with its right side facing north and its wheels pointing in the direction of travel.

The second vehicle came to a final stop north-facing on the grass shoulder south of State Road 2 and just east of Timberlane Road.

What happened to Bobby Worley?

A fatal two-car collision in Jackson County claimed the life of Bobby Worley from Cottonwood. 

When a vehicle, an SUV with three people inside, was crossing south on Timberlane Road in Jackson County before coming to a stop sign at the intersection of State Road 2.

The SUV at the stop sign tried to turn into State Road 2 but ran into the truck. The two Cottonwood residents’ vehicles rolled over and over after the collision.

The 27-year-old lady was brought to the hospital with critical injuries. And the 29-year-old Cottonwood man was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.

The three people in the other car only had minor wounds and are anticipated to make a full recovery. Bobby Worley has been named as the victim. The Florida Highway Patrol is looking into the crash.

Oh Bobby, today we are still sitting in total shock with your passing. I can’t find the words to even magnify how we felt about you. You were so loving, honest, and pure.

We knew that in the short amount of time of knowing you. You loved my best friend so deeply. You will be greatly missed by everyone who ever got to know you long or short. May you rest in peace.

Aunt Kimmy, we are here for you girl. We couldn’t get to you fast enough last night when we got the call. Sitting at your bedside and you asking for Bobby is a true testament to how you felt about him. You are in my every second thought and prayer while waiting to hear what’s happening next.

Please everyone stop and pray for the Worley family. Please pray for Kim as the road ahead both mentally and physically will be the hardest thing. Please pray for her mom and dad as they are navigating so much right now.
