About Faleena Hopkins
Faleena Hopkins is a novelist, actress, and filmmaker who writes stories about love in both books and films, with family loyalty being a major theme throughout. She has been an actress since childhood and went behind the camera to heal after her mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died in December 2005, just before Christmas.
Faleena worked as a professional photographer for the next ten years, putting acting on hold for the majority of that time. Since 2013, she has been writing novels. In 2013, she wrote the screenplay Just One More Kiss and entered it in a contest sponsored by Meryl Streep and NYWIFT. It didn’t win, but she was so taken with the story that she decided to make it herself.
On January 2nd, she published her first children’s picture book, Everyone Is Unique, to help children understand how special they are. It was published under her initials to keep the author page on Amazon G-rated (as opposed to her steamy romance books under her whole name). In February 2020, the film and novel Just One More Kiss will be released.
In March, Faleena received a letter from the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences (the Oscars) requesting that a copy of Just One More Kiss be added to their core collection of still photographs and behind-the-scenes footage. Because there are fewer women than men who have written, starred in, and directed their own film, this addition to the Academy’s collection for posterity was truly an honor.
