The Rose Tree Media School District’s students and staff are mourning the loss of two Penncrest students, the district said on Tuesday. Two students of Penncrest High School died on the same day in a different manner. The tragic incidents happened just before the Christmas holidays.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, ninth-grader Shane Wolf was killed, according to authorities, when he was hit by a car while attempting to cross Route 352.
After a protracted struggle with a medical condition, senior student Benjamin Strain passed dead less than 24 hours later. Friends, Family and Penncrest students made tributes on the passing of two students.
How did Shane Wolf & Benjamin Strain die?
The ninth-grade Student of Penncrest High school, Shane Wolf passed away unexpectedly in an accident while he was crossing the road on Monday night. The very smart Penncrest freshman was frequently spotted in and around Middletown Township’s well-known family business, Wolff’s Apple House.
Another Penncrest High School student, Benjamin Strain died after a protracted battle with a medical condition on Tuesday morning in less than a day. Benny’s neighbor recalled him for his big smile and hopes of one day becoming a mermaid.
According to Benjamin’s mother, his organs will be given to save the lives of others. The district noted in a message to families, “We are incredibly saddened by the loss of two of our students and have been working all day to provide support for our students, staff, and families,”
Pupils and colleagues who are grieving the loss of the two students have access to counselors and psychologists.
