“Incidents of this nature are incredibly distressing, and I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who responded to the 999 call on Thursday, or has been involved with the subsequent investigation, for the professionalism and respect they have shown.”
“I also want to thank the local community as we know how upsetting it is for an incident of this nature to take place. We will continue to have members of our Neighborhood Policing Team on patrol in the area and I urge anyone with any concerns to please speak to them.”

Deborah Needham, the hospital’s chief executive, said in a statement: “Yesterday we received the extremely distressing news that one of our colleagues had passed away in circumstances that Northamptonshire Police are investigating. ‘She was a committed and compassionate staff nurse, who was loved and respected by her dear friends and colleagues.
‘All our thoughts are with her friends and family as they come to terms with this sudden loss.’ The hospital is offering appropriate professional support to her colleagues.
Anju Asok, a nurse with foreign training, joined the KGH staff in 2021 and spent the majority of her time on Barnwell B, one of our orthopedic wards. Residents in the area were shocked to hear about the killings.
Anjus’ Parent’s statement:
The family of the Kerala-based Indian nurse who was killed along with her two small children on Friday said that her husband was a “cruel” guy and that he had previously abused his wife. Her family claimed on Saturday, a day after the UK received reports of the murders.
To make matters worse, they require about Rs 30 lakh to bring the bodies back to India and to spend one final time with their daughter and grandchildren. At their house in the Vaikom region of the state’s Kottayam district, Asok’s parents told the media that local police had told them the previous night that their daughter had been strangled to death using a cloth or a rope, per the results of the postmortem.
According to Asok’s mother, Saju, her son-in-law, is a “cruel” guy who assaulted her daughter and grandson while the pair was residing in Saudi Arabia.
“I was staying with them when my granddaughter was born. I have seen him hit Anju and my grandson. He is a cruel person.
He gets angry very quickly. I was scared to be alone with him in the house there.”, she added.
