A wanted felon is being vigorously sought after by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office just west of Rainier.
Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the CCSO issued a search alert for Kevin J. Reynolds, a 41-year-old convicted felon, advising citizens to stay inside and secure their houses. According to reports, Reynolds is armed and dangerous.
Law enforcement is searching the area along Heath Road and Old Rainier Road with the help of the St. Helens Police Department and the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Cowlitz County Chief Criminal Deputy Troy Brightbill, Kevin J. Reynolds is wanted for reportedly breaking into a residence last month while carrying a gun and taking a cell phone from one of the occupants.
On October 28, the department began looking for him in the Lexington region.
Kevin J. Reynolds is the same guy who is accused of robbing a man in the 1400 block of Alabama Street in Longview, holding a gun to his head, and stealing his car in August.
Police Statement
Following a report that Kevin J. Reynolds entered a house Monday night (October 28) while carrying a firearm and stole a resident’s cell phone, chief criminal deputy Troy Brightbill said Reynolds is wanted on a suspected felony charge.
Evidence
Deputies and other neighborhood law enforcement organizations reportedly spent hours searching the area for Brightbill without success. They found a gun during the search, according to Brightbill.
There was no threat to Lexington Elementary School, according to the sheriff’s office, and deputies were still patrolling the area as of 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
