Who was Todd Maddox?

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Todd was not only a fantastic part of his community but also a fantastic family man, a terrific police officer, and a great friend to a lot of people.

Todd fought bravely, never showing any signs of pain, and instead came to work every day smiling, doing the job he loved so much and protecting our city with his BCSO family!

He started working for our organization in 1990 and worked his way up to the level of Lieutenant, where he proudly served until his temporary retirement in 2020.

I say brief retirement because Todd immediately returned to the Sheriff’s Office as a School Resource Deputy, doing what he loved most wearing the badge and defending others!

As a deputy sheriff in our Canaveral Precinct, Todd eventually rotated back to Patrol Services and served there until his death. Todd joyfully and honorably served our organization and community for more than 33 years!
