Gwent police have confirmed that Tom Moreton, a teen who was reported missing over the weekend, has passed away. The body of missing youngster Tom Moreton was discovered in Newport’s River Usk. Keep reading to know more about it in detail.

 

Missing Tom Moreton found dead:

The body of a man was discovered in the River Usk in Newport at about 6.15 p.m. on Sunday, according to Gwent Police.

The man has been officially identified by the police as Tom Moreton, 19, of Cwmbran, who was reported missing to Gwent Police on Sunday, June 25. His family have been notified.

A report will be written for the coroner, and the police aren’t considering the death as suspicious.

On Sunday afternoon, a police aircraft was requested as part of the search for Mr. Morton.

A spokesperson for the force said:

The body of a man was found in the River Usk in Newport at around 6.15pm on Sunday 25 June.
Formal identification has taken place and the man was identified as Tom Moreton, 19, from Cwmbran who was reported as missing to Gwent Police on Sunday 25 June. His next of kin have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

 

What happened?

Tom Moreton, 19, was last seen at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, in the center of Newport, close to the Vibez nightclub.

The kid, who was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, and grey Nike trainers with a green tick, was described by police in a previous appeal as being roughly 5′ 10″ tall, of slim build, and last seen wearing those clothes.

After he disappeared in the early hours of Sunday morning near the Vibez nightclub in Newport city center, there were worries for his safety.

His friends and family are devastated after learning that Tom Moreton, a missing teenager, has been found dead.

The news of Tom’s passing has understandably devastated her family and friends, and condolences have poured in from all over the neighborhood. Many people have expressed their sympathies and offered support to Tom’s loved ones on social media during this difficult period.
