Love you forever. Mum.”

Coach statements:

Craig Clifton, an accredited rugby league agent, said that Ben had just finished a weight-training session.

Mr Clifton said,

“He was doing everything he could to improve himself as an athlete and as a footballer. Anything you asked, he would do,”

“On the field, he was just one of those players you got the best out of every single time he played.

“He was a devastating runner of the ball, a fantastic defender, and a player everyone liked playing with.”

Ben was a member of the Melbourne Storm rugby league academy, and Mr. Clifton oversaw the development of his career for the previous 18 months while also observing Ben’s performance.

He said,

“He had a big future ahead of him in rugby league,”

“There’s no guarantees in rugby league, but if anyone had the ability to make it, he did.

“He was just a great kid to manage, and it’s devastating.”

Ben attended yesterday’s club end-of-season presentation, according to Ashley Robinson of Sunshine Coast Falcons.

Robinson said,

“It’s just surreal,”
